Starting The Horizontal Stabilizer

We put the rudder assembly aside for the time being pending an inspection by tech counselor John DeYager and picked up the horizontal stabilizer spars and doublers and put them on the bench to get started working.

EJ and I started by removing the vinyl completely from the forward spar and doublers. Got a lot of it done in a short period of time.

Of note here is that the hinge brackets are all powder coated and, because they are, the 1/8th clecos you use to cleco the bracket to the spar will not go through the bracket so you have to user either a 1/8th or #30 drill bit to clear the coating. We always use the final size drill bit, in this case #30.
