This morning I was going to post my process of assembling the Vans Tool Box but, sitting down to start assembling the post I first checked my email and received this really bad news from Vans Aircraft.
We had some suspicions that Vans could find itself in financial difficulty when they first announced the manufacturing failures with the dimpled hole cracking of laser cut parts. Apparently it is a much bigger problem than they had hoped. Here is the email I received from Vans.
If you click on the image it will open a new tab with the official announcement on Vans web site. This is really bad news, particularly for those of us that have invested in Vans by purchasing a kit. I expect they will come out of this, but it may take a while, so any way you look at it this is really bad news from Vans Aircraft.
I will be posting the assembly of the toolbox later today, more than likely. I will most likely also put the RV-10 project aside and start on a Zenith 750 SD. The RV-10 will have to wait until the Zenith is completed.
