Horizontal Stabilizer Continuation

Today I spent about an hour using a soldering iron, on which I had ground the tip to a round point and then smoothed it with sandpaper, to remove strips of vinyl from the stabilizer skins to facilitate dimpling.

The key with the iron is to go slowly and not use a lot of pressure to avoid scratching the skin. I’m not sure where I heard about this little trick but it works well, you just have to be patient. This isn’t a task per se in the manual, but it provides a means to continue protecting the majority of the skin while dimpling.

On another note: Although I have posted a video here, I am going to stop posting video for now as they are large files and there is a lot of repetitive, superfluous, recording. If someone really wants to see something they can always ask.
