As it says, this day was spent continuing the preparation of the Zenith 750 SD tail parts for priming. I am priming with P60G2 so I wanted to have all of the components ready so that I could spray them in a single session and avoid having to clean the spray gun and other bits and pieces multiple times.
So, just a few more pictures showing the preparation. You will see that I went over all of the components with my deburring tool. I did not deburr all the holes and edges but ran my finger over the part and then deburred what I considered to be “rough” edges. It is not possible to use the quick deburr tool on the inside of some of the parts, like the elevator skins, so if the holes there need deburring you have to use some other method.
You may notice in some of these snapshots that I am writing the component name / part designation on the part. This is so that I don’t get confused when they are primed and I need to figure out which part is which for assembly.
One suggestion I have for both Zenith and Vans…please use easy peel labels. It’s a real pain in the butt trying to remove these cheapo labels from the metal and it adds countless hours to the process of cleaning.
